Youngtiville, California–Three hostages have died after being taken hostage by a lone gunman at the largest veterans home in the United States. Police were called to veterans home around 10:20 a.m. Friday when shots were fired from a rifle in the dining room. An Officers who responded to the shooting exchanged gunfire with the suspect before the gunman was pushed back into a room. The standoff ended after 8 hours when police discovered the bodies of three women and the lone gunman in a room. Officials say It is unclear if the three hostages were targeted or selected at random. The identities of the hostages and gunman were not released at the time of this post.
